5:8–11 Like 8:1–4, 32, this passage highlights the special purpose and effectiveness that Paul regularly ascribes to Christ’s death. That is, Christ died specifically “for us” (v. 8) who now believe and are justified through our faith, and His death actually achieved for us the “reconciliation” that “we have now received” (v. 11).
