Luke 22:19

22:19 This is my body. There has been much discussion of these words (Matt. 26:26 note). The verb “is” in this instance does not mean “is identical with,” but something more like “represents,” “signifies,” or perhaps “conveys.” One Reformed communion service instructs the worshiper to “feed on Him in thy heart” when the bread is received. See “The Lord’s Supper” at 1 Cor. 11:23.

Do this. The one thing Jesus commanded His followers to do as a remembrance of Him referred to His death, underlining the centrality of the Cross for the Christian faith.
