These “Greeks” were probably not Jews of the dispersion (the Greek word is different from that translated “Hellenists” in Acts 6:1). Rather, they were perhaps proselytes or, more probably, Gentile “God-fearers” (as they were called) who participated in synagogue worship but did not undergo circumcision and full reception into the Jewish religion (Acts 8:27; 13:26; 17:4).
