2:2 Zerubbabel. A descendant of David and a grandson of King Jehoiachin, he was the leader responsible for laying the temple’s foundation (3:8–10).

Jeshua. He was high priest at the time of the restoration (Hag. 1:1; Zech. 3:1).

Nehemiah. Not the same Nehemiah who later oversaw the reconstruction of Jerusalem’s walls.

Mordecai. Not the same Mordecai who was Esther’s cousin.
