Ezek 44:10–14

44:10–14 Though foreigners had served in the temple in the past (Josh. 9:3, 6, 21), they will no longer be allowed to enter. The tasks they had performed belonged to the Levites (Num. 1:50–53; 3:6, 8, 28–32; 1 Chr. 23:24–32; 2 Chr. 8:14, 15). Priestly families that had engaged in idolatry before the Babylonian exile (8:6) will now join their fellow Levites in the more menial tasks of the temple and as assistants to the priests. The priesthood itself will be restricted to the line of Zadok (v. 15; 40:45, 46).
