Deut 1:46

1:46 at Kadesh many days. Little is said in Numbers or Deuteronomy about the forty years of lost time. Numbers gives examples of the people’s rebellions against Moses (Num. 16; 17). It is likely that the list of the wanderings in Num. 33:18–49, after they left Hazeroth and the wilderness of Paran, indicates where the tabernacle was set up and the core of the people stayed. As for the rebellious majority, they may have fanned out over the peninsula of Sinai with their flocks in order to find forage.
