2:27–36 The words of the man of God to Eli exhibit features typical of prophetic judgment speeches. There is an accusation (expressed here through accusing questions that emphasize the contrast between the Lord’s grace and Eli’s disobedience) and an announcement of judgment confirmed by a sign.
