8:64 offering. For burnt offerings, see note 3:4. Grain offerings often accompanied animal sacrifices (Lev. 2; 7:11–14; 8:26; 9:4; 14:20; Num. 15:1–10) and were indications of the worshiper’s gratitude and praise. For peace offerings, see Lev. 3.

the bronze altar. This altar on which sacrifices were burned was located in front of the temple (vv. 22, 54) and is different from the incense altar inside the temple (6:22 note).
