zalmon, Salmon [Zăl'mŏn,Săl'mŏn]—shady or ascent. An Ahohite, one of David’s mighty men (2 Sam. 23:28), who is also called Ilai in 1 Chronicles 11:29. Zalmon is likewise the name of a wooded mountain area near Shechem (Judg. 9:48; Ps. 68:14).
