Tubal [To̅o̅'bal]—worldly possessions or flowing forth. A son of Japheth (Gen. 10:2; 1 Chron. 1:5). Also the name of a country in Asia Minor mentioned in connection with Meshech (Isa. 66:19; Ezek. 27:13; 32:26; 38:2, 3; 39:1). This place is now identified as Tobolsk, capital of Asiatic Russia, and is therefore heavy with prophetic significance.
