Nethaniah

Nethaniah [Nĕtha nī'ah]—jehovah hath given.

  1. Father of that Ishmael who slew Gedaliah, whom Nebuchadnezzar had left governor in the land (2 Kings 25:23, 25).
  2. A son of Asaph, and chief singer in David’s time (1 Chron. 25:2, 12).
  3. A Levite whom Jehoshaphat sent to teach the cities of Judah (2 Chron. 17:8).
  4. The father of Jehudi whom the princes of Judah sent to bring Baruch (Jer. 36:14).
