and they said to him, “Behold, you have grown old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now appoint us a king to judge us like all the nations.”

so that we also may be like all the nations, and our king may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.”

Arise, Lord, do not let mankind prevail; Let the nations be judged before You.

May the nations be glad and sing for joy; For You will judge the peoples with fairness And guide the nations on the earth. Selah

Arise, God, judge the earth! For You possess all the nations.

Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns; Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved; He will judge the peoples fairly.”

He will judge among the nations, He will fill them with corpses, He will shatter the chief men over a broad country.

And He will judge between the nations, And will mediate for many peoples; And they will beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning knives. Nation will not lift up a sword against nation, And never again will they learn war.

I also scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed throughout the lands. According to their ways and their deeds I judged them.

The Nations Will Be Judged

“For behold, in those days and at that time, When I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,

Let the nations be awakened And come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat, For there I will sit to judge All the surrounding nations.

And He will judge between many peoples And render decisions for mighty, distant nations. Then they will beat their swords into plowshares, And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation will not lift a sword against nation, And never again will they train for war.

And the nations were enraged, and Your wrath came, and the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to reward Your bond-servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”
