  12. Then Yeshua went with his talmidim to a place called Gat-Sh’manim and said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.”
  13. Going on a little farther, he fell on his face, praying, “My Father, if possible, let this cup pass from me! Yet — not what I want, but what you want!”
  14. Stay awake, and pray that you will not be put to the test — the spirit indeed is eager, but human nature is weak.”
  15. A second time he went off and prayed. “My Father, if this cup cannot pass away unless I drink it, let what you want be done.”
  16. Leaving them again, he went off and prayed a third time, saying the same words.
  17. Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Yeshua got up, left, went away to a lonely spot and stayed there praying.
  18. After he had left them, he went into the hills to pray.
  19. He said to them “This is the kind of spirit that can be driven out only by prayer.”
  20. Then, as he taught them, he said, “Isn’t it written in the Tanakh, My house will be called a house of prayer for all the Goyim But you have made it into a den of robbers!
  21. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, trust that you are receiving it, and it will be yours.
  22. And when you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him; so that your Father in heaven may also forgive your offenses.”

  37. As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed; and his clothing became gleaming white.
  38. One time Yeshua was in a certain place praying. As he finished, one of the talmidim said to him, “Sir, teach us to pray, just as Yochanan taught his talmidim.”
  39. He said to them, “When you pray, say: ‘Father, May your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come.
  40. Then Yeshua told his talmidim a parable, in order to impress on them that they must always keep praying and not lose heart.
  41. “Two men went up to the Temple to pray, one a Parush and the other a tax-collector.
  42. The Parush stood and prayed to himself, ‘O God! I thank you that I am not like the rest of humanity — greedy, dishonest, immoral, or like this tax-collector!
  43. saying to them, “The Tanakh says, ‘My House is to be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it into a den of robbers!”
  44. Stay alert, always praying that you will have the strength to escape all the things that will happen and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man.”
  45. But I prayed for you, Shim‘on, that your trust might not fail. And you, once you have turned back in repentance, strengthen your brothers!”
  46. When he arrived, he said to them, “Pray that you won’t be put to the test.”
  47. He went about a stone’s throw away from them, kneeled down and prayed,
  48. and in great anguish he prayed more intensely, so that his sweat became like drops of blood falling to the ground.
  49. On rising from prayer and coming to the talmidim, he found them sleeping because of their grief.
  50. He said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you won’t be put to the test!”
  51. When that day comes, you will ask in my name. I am not telling you that I will pray to the Father on your behalf,
  52. “I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given to me, because they are yours.
  53. “I pray not only for these, but also for those who will trust in me because of their word,
  54. that they may all be one. Just as you, Father, are united with me and I with you, I pray that they may be united with us, so that the world may believe that you sent me.
  55. These all devoted themselves single-mindedly to prayer, along with some women, including Miryam (Yeshua’s mother), and his brothers.
  56. Then they prayed, “Lord, you know everyone’s heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen
  57. They continued faithfully in the teaching of the emissaries, in fellowship, in breaking bread and in the prayers.
  58. One afternoon at three o’clock, the hour of minchah prayers, as Kefa and Yochanan were going up to the Temple,
  59. When they heard it, they raised their voices to God with singleness of heart. “Master,” they prayed, “You made heaven, earth, the sea and everything in them.
  60. While they were still praying, the place where they were gathered was shaken. They were all filled with the Ruach HaKodesh, and they spoke God’s message with boldness.
  61. but we ourselves will give our full attention to praying and to serving the Word.”
  62. They presented these men to the emissaries, who prayed and laid their hands on them.
  63. who came down and prayed for them, that they might receive the Ruach HaKodesh.
  64. So repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord. Perhaps you will yet be forgiven for holding such a thought in your heart.
  65. Shim‘on answered, “Pray to the Lord for me, so that none of the things you have spoken about will happen to me.”
  66. The Lord said to him, “Get up and go to Straight Street, to Y’hudah’s house; and ask for a man from Tarsus named Sha’ul; for he is praying,
  67. But Kefa put them all outside, kneeled down and prayed. Then, turning to the body, he said, “Tavita! Get up!” She opened her eyes; and on seeing Kefa, she sat up.
  68. He was a devout man, a “God-fearer,” as was his whole household; he gave generously to help the Jewish poor and prayed regularly to God.
  69. Cornelius stared at the angel, terrified. “What is it, sir?” he asked. “Your prayers,” replied the angel, “and your acts of charity have gone up into God’s presence, so that he has you on his mind.
  70. The next day about noon, while they were still on their way and approaching the city, Kefa went up onto the roof of the house to pray.
  71. Cornelius answered, “Three days ago around this time, I was at minchah prayers in my house, when suddenly a man in shining clothes stood in front of me
  72. and said, ‘God has heard your prayer and remembered your acts of charity.
  73. “I was in the city of Yafo, praying; and in a trance I had a vision. I saw something like a large sheet being lowered by its four corners from heaven, and it came down to me.
  74. So Kefa was being held under watch in prison, but intense prayer was being made to God on his behalf by the Messianic community.
  75. Realizing what had happened, he went to the house of Miryam the mother of Yochanan (surnamed Mark), where many people had gathered to pray.
  76. After fasting and praying, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.
  77. After appointing elders for them in every congregation, Sha’ul and Bar-Nabba, with prayer and fasting, committed them to the Lord in whom they had put their trust.
  78. Around midnight, Sha’ul and Sila were praying and singing hymns to God, while the other prisoners listened attentively.
  79. When he had finished speaking, Sha’ul kneeled down with them all and prayed.
  80. but when the week was over, we left to continue our journey. All of them, with their wives and children, accompanied us until we were outside the town. Kneeling on the beach and praying,
  81. “After I had returned to Yerushalayim, it happened that as I was praying in the Temple, I went into a trance,

  89. Do not deprive each other, except for a limited time, by mutual agreement, and then only so as to have extra time for prayer; but afterwards, come together again. Otherwise, because of your lack of self-control, you may succumb to the Adversary’s temptation.
  90. Every man who prays or prophesies wearing something down over his head brings shame to his head,
  91. but every woman who prays or prophesies with her head unveiled brings shame to her head — there is no difference between her and a woman who has had her head shaved.
  92. Decide for yourselves: is it appropriate for a woman to pray to God when she is unveiled?
  93. Therefore someone who speaks in a tongue should pray for the power to interpret.
  94. For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit does pray, but my mind is unproductive.
  95. So, what about it? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind.
  96. And you must add your help by praying for us; for the more people there are praying, the more people there will be to give thanks when their prayer for us is answered.
  97. And in their prayers for you they will feel a strong affection for you because of how gracious God has been to you.
  98. And we pray to God that you will do nothing wrong. We are not concerned with our appearing successful, but with your doing what is right, even if we appear to be failures.
  99. So we rejoice whenever we are weak and you are strong; indeed, what we pray for is that you become perfect.
  100. I have not stopped giving thanks for you. In my prayers I keep asking
  101. I pray that he will give light to the eyes of your hearts, so that you will understand the hope to which he has called you, what rich glories there are in the inheritance he has promised his people,
  102. I pray that from the treasures of his glory he will empower you with inner strength by his Spirit,
  103. so that the Messiah may live in your hearts through your trusting. Also I pray that you will be rooted and founded in love,
  104. as you pray at all times, with all kinds of prayers and requests, in the Spirit, vigilantly and persistently, for all God’s people.
  105. And pray for me, too, that whenever I open my mouth, the words will be given to me to be bold in making known the secret of the Good News,
  106. for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may speak boldly, the way I should.
  107. Whenever I pray for all of you I always pray with joy,
  108. And this is my prayer: that your love may more and more overflow in fullness of knowledge and depth of discernment,
  109. for I know that this will work out for my deliverance, because of your prayers and the support I get from the Spirit of Yeshua the Messiah.
  110. Don’t worry about anything; on the contrary, make your requests known to God by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving.
  111. Whenever we pray, we always give thanks for you to God, the Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.
  112. Therefore, from the day we heard of it, we have not stopped praying for you, asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will in all the wisdom and understanding which the Spirit gives;
  113. We pray that you will be continually strengthened with all the power that comes from his glorious might; so that you will be able to persevere and be patient in any situation, joyfully
  114. Keep persisting in prayer, staying alert in it and being thankful.
  115. Include prayer for us, too, that God may open a door for us to proclaim the message about the secret of the Messiah — for that is why I am in prison.
  116. And pray that I may speak, as I should, in a way that makes the message clear.
  117. Epaphras sends greetings; he is one of you, a slave of the Messiah Yeshua who always agonizes in his prayer on your behalf, praying that you may stand firm, mature and fully confident, as you devote yourselves completely to God’s will.
  118. We always thank God for all of you, regularly mentioning you in our prayers,
  119. Night and day we pray as hard as we can that we will be able to see you face to face and supply whatever shortcomings there may be in your trust.
  120. Brothers, keep praying for us.
  121. With this in view, we always pray for you that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill by his power every good purpose of yours and every action stemming from your trust.
  122. Finally, brothers, pray for us that the Lord’s message may spread rapidly and receive honor, just as it did with you;
  123. First of all, then, I counsel that petitions, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made for all human beings,
  124. Therefore, it is my wish that when the men pray, no matter where, they should lift up hands that are holy — they should not become angry or get into arguments.
  125. Likewise, the women, when they pray, should be dressed modestly and sensibly in respectable attire, not with elaborate hairstyles and gold jewelry, or pearls, or expensive clothes.
  126. because the word of God and prayer make it holy.
  127. Now the widow who is really in need, the one who has been left all alone, has set her hope on God and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.
  128. I give thanks to God, whom, like my forbears, I worship with a clean conscience, as I regularly remember you in my prayers night and day.
  129. I thank my God every time I mention you in my prayers, Philemon,
  130. I pray that the fellowship based on your commitment will produce full understanding of every good thing that is ours in union with the Messiah.
  131. One more thing: please get a room ready for me. For I hope that through the prayers of you all God will give me a chance to visit you.
  132. During Yeshua’s life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions, crying aloud and shedding tears, to the One who had the power to deliver him from death; and he was heard because of his godliness.
  133. By trusting, Ya‘akov, when he was dying, blessed each of Yosef’s sons, leaning on his walking-stick as he bowed in prayer.
  134. Keep praying for us, for we are certain that we have a clear conscience and want to conduct ourselves properly in everything we do.
  135. You desire things and don’t have them. You kill, and you are jealous, and you still can’t get them. So you fight and quarrel. The reason you don’t have is that you don’t pray!
  136. Or you pray and don’t receive, because you pray with the wrong motive, that of wanting to indulge your own desires.
  137. Is someone among you in trouble? He should pray. Is someone feeling good? He should sing songs of praise.
  138. Is someone among you ill? He should call for the elders of the congregation. They will pray for him and rub olive oil on him in the name of the Lord.
  139. The prayer offered with trust will heal the one who is ill — the Lord will restore his health; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
  140. Therefore, openly acknowledge your sins to one another, and pray for each other, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
  141. Eliyahu was only a human being like us; yet he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and no rain fell on the Land for three years and six months.
  142. Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the Land produced its crops.
  143. You husbands, likewise, conduct your married lives with understanding. Although your wife may be weaker physically, you should respect her as a fellow-heir of the gift of Life. If you don’t, your prayers will be blocked.
  144. For Adonai keeps his eyes on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayers; but the face of Adonai is against those who do evil things.”
  145. The accomplishing of the goal of all things is close at hand. Therefore, keep alert and self-controlled, so that you can pray.
  146. If anyone sees his brother committing a sin that does not lead to death, he will ask; and God will give him life for those whose sinning does not lead to death. There is sin that does lead to death; I am not saying he should pray about that.
  147. Dear friend, I am praying that everything prosper with you and that you be in good health, as I know you are prospering spiritually.
  148. But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith, and pray in union with the Ruach HaKodesh.
  149. When he took the scroll, the four living beings and the twenty-four elders fell down in front of the Lamb. Each one held a harp and gold bowls filled with pieces of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people;
  150. Another angel came and stood at the altar with a gold incense-bowl, and he was given a large quantity of incense to add to the prayers of all God’s people
  151. on the gold altar in front of the throne. The smoke of the incense went up with the prayers of God’s people from the hand of the angel before God.
