    his praise in the assembly^(C) of his faithful people.

² Let Israel rejoice^(D) in their Maker;^(E)
    let the people of Zion be glad in their King.^(F)
3 Let them praise his name with dancing^(G)
    and make music to him with timbrel and harp.^(H)
4 For the Lord takes delight^(I) in his people;
    he crowns the humble with victory.^(J)
5 Let his faithful people rejoice^(K) in this honor
    and sing for joy on their beds.^(L)

⁶ May the praise of God be in their mouths^(M)
    and a double-edged^(N) sword in their hands,^(O)
7 to inflict vengeance^(P) on the nations
    and punishment^(Q) on the peoples,
⁸ to bind their kings with fetters,^(R)
    their nobles with shackles of iron,^(S)
9 to carry out the sentence written against them—^(T)
    this is the glory of all his faithful people.^(U)

Praise the Lord.

Praise God in his sanctuary;^(B)
    praise him in his mighty heavens.^(C)
2 Praise him for his acts of power;^(D)
    praise him for his surpassing greatness.^(E)
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,^(F)
    praise him with the harp and lyre,^(G)
4 praise him with timbrel and dancing,^(H)
    praise him with the strings^(I) and pipe,^(J)
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,^(K)
    praise him with resounding cymbals.

⁶ Let everything^(L) that has breath praise the Lord.

¹¹ The day for building your walls^(A) will come,
    the day for extending your boundaries.
¹² In that day people will come to you
    from Assyria^(B) and the cities of Egypt,
even from Egypt to the Euphrates
    and from sea to sea
    and from mountain to mountain.^(C)
13 The earth will become desolate because of its inhabitants,
    as the result of their deeds.^(D)

¹⁵ “As in the days when you came out of Egypt,
    I will show them my wonders.^(K)”

¹⁶ Nations will see and be ashamed,^(L)
    deprived of all their power.
They will put their hands over their mouths^(M)
    and their ears will become deaf.
¹⁷ They will lick dust^(N) like a snake,
    like creatures that crawl on the ground.
They will come trembling^(O) out of their dens;
    they will turn in fear^(P) to the Lord our God
    and will be afraid of you.
¹⁸ Who is a God^(Q) like you,
    who pardons sin^(R) and forgives^(S) the transgression
    of the remnant^(T) of his inheritance?^(U)
You do not stay angry^(V) forever
    but delight to show mercy.^(W)
19 You will again have compassion on us;
    you will tread our sins underfoot
    and hurl all our iniquities^(X) into the depths of the sea.^(Y)
20 You will be faithful to Jacob,
    and show love to Abraham,^(Z)
as you pledged on oath to our ancestors^(AA)
    in days long ago.^(AB)
