14 This is what the Lord says concerning all My (A)wicked neighbors who (B)do harm to the inheritance with which I have endowed My people Israel: “Behold, I am going to drive them out of their land, and I will (C)drive the house of Judah out from among them. 15 And it will come about that after I have driven them out, I will (D)again have compassion on them; and I will (E)bring them back, each one to his inheritance and each one to his land. 16 Then, if they will really (F)learn the ways of My people, to (G)swear by My name, ‘As the Lord lives,’ just as they taught My people to (H)swear by Baal, they will be (I)built up in the midst of My people. 17 But if they do not listen, then I will (J)drive out that nation, drive it out and destroy it,” declares the Lord.

A Message for Israel’s Neighbors

14 Now this is what the Lord says: “I will uproot from their land all the evil nations reaching out for the possession I gave my people Israel. And I will uproot Judah from among them. 15 But afterward I will return and have compassion on all of them. I will bring them home to their own lands again, each nation to its own possession. 16 And if these nations truly learn the ways of my people, and if they learn to swear by my name, saying, ‘As surely as the Lord lives’ (just as they taught my people to swear by the name of Baal), then they will be given a place among my people. 17 But any nation who refuses to obey me will be uprooted and destroyed. I, the Lord, have spoken!”
