¹² But to the rest I, not the Lord, say: If any brother has a wife who does not believe, and she is willing to live with him, let him not divorce her. ¹³ And a woman who has a husband who does not believe, if he is willing to live with her, let her not divorce him. ¹⁴ For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise ^(A)your children would be unclean, but now they are holy. ¹⁵ But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God has called us ^(B)to peace. ¹⁶ For how do you know, O wife, whether you will ^(C)save your husband? Or how do you know, O husband, whether you will save your wife?

²⁰ Rather, that the things which the Gentiles ^(A)sacrifice ^(B)they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. ^21 (C)You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and ^(D)the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the ^(E)Lord’s table and of the table of demons. ²² Or do we ^(F)provoke the Lord to jealousy? ^(G)Are we stronger than He?

²³ All things are lawful ^[a]for me, but not all things are ^(I)helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things ^[b]edify. ²⁴ Let no one seek his own, but each one ^(J)the other’s well-being.

^25 (K)Eat whatever is sold in the meat market, asking no questions for conscience’ sake; ²⁶ for ^(L)“the earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness.”

²⁷ If any of those who do not believe invites you to dinner, and you desire to go, ^(M)eat whatever is set before you, asking no question for conscience’ sake. ²⁸ But if anyone says to you, “This was offered to idols,” do not eat it ^(N)for the sake of the one who told you, and for conscience’ sake; ^[c]for ^(O)“the earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness.” ²⁹ “Conscience,” I say, not your own, but that of the other. For ^(P)why is my liberty judged by another man’s conscience? ³⁰ But if I partake with thanks, why am I evil spoken of for the food ^(Q)over which I give thanks?

^31 (R)Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. ^32 (S)Give no offense, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God,
