Daniel 12:5-13

New King James Version

⁵Then I, Daniel, looked; and there stood two others, one on this riverbank and the other on that ^(A)riverbank. ⁶And one said to the man clothed in ^(B)linen, who was above the waters of the river, ^(C)“How long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be?”

⁷Then I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he ^(D)held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by Him ^(E)who lives forever, ^(F)that it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; ^(G)and when the power of ^(H)the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall be finished.

⁸Although I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, “My lord, what shall be the end of these things?”

⁹And he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. ¹⁰^(I)Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, ^(J)but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but ^(K)the wise shall understand.

¹¹“And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. ¹²Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.

¹³“But you, go your way till the end; ^(L)for you shall rest, ^(M)and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.”

Prayer for Mercy, with Meditation on the Excellencies of the Lord

A Prayer of David.

86 Bow down Your ear, O Lord, hear me;
For I am poor and needy.
²Preserve my ^[a]life, for I am holy;
You are my God;
Save Your servant who trusts in You!
³Be merciful to me, O Lord,
For I cry to You all day long.
⁴^[b]Rejoice the soul of Your servant,
^(A)For to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
⁵For ^(B)You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.

⁶Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer;
And attend to the voice of my supplications.
⁷In the day of my trouble I will call upon You,
For You will answer me.

⁸^(C)Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord;
Nor are there any works like Your works.
⁹All nations whom You have made
Shall come and worship before You, O Lord,
And shall glorify Your name.
¹⁰For You are great, and ^(D)do wondrous things;
^(E)You alone are God.

¹¹^(F)Teach me Your way, O Lord;
I will walk in Your truth;
^[c]Unite my heart to fear Your name.

¹⁶Oh, turn to me, and have mercy on me!
Give Your strength to Your servant,
And save the son of Your maidservant.

That those who hate me may see it and be ashamed,
Because You, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.
