11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled, and place was not found for them.

12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is [that] of life. And the dead were judged out of the things written in the books according to their works.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which [were] in it, and death and hades gave up the dead which [were] in them; and they were judged each according to their works:

14 and death and hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, [even] the lake of fire.

The Judgment of the Dead

11 Then I saw a great white throne(A) and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence,(B) and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small,(C) standing before the throne, and books were opened.(D) Another book was opened, which is the book of life.(E) The dead were judged(F) according to what they had done(G) as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades(H) gave up the dead(I) that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done.(J) 14 Then death(K) and Hades(L) were thrown into the lake of fire.(M) The lake of fire is the second death.(N)
