^8 (E)Come, behold the works of the Lord,
    how he has brought desolations on the earth.
^9 (F)He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
    he ^(G)breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
    ^(H)he burns the chariots with fire.
^10 (I)“Be still, and know that I am God.
    ^(J)I will be exalted among the nations,
    I will be exalted in the earth!”

¹⁰ Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
    be warned, O rulers of the earth.
^11 (A)Serve the Lord with ^(B)fear,
    and ^(C)rejoice with ^(D)trembling.
^12 (E)Kiss ^(F)the Son,
    lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
    for his ^(G)wrath is quickly kindled.
^(H)Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

^4 (A)“Give attention to me, my people,
    and give ear to me, my nation;
^(B)for a law^[a] will go out from me,
    and I will set my justice for a light to the peoples.
