Prayer for Help and Guidance.

A Psalm of David.

143 Hear my prayer, Lord,
(A)Listen to my pleadings!
Answer me in Your (B)faithfulness, in Your (C)righteousness!
And (D)do not enter into judgment with Your servant,
For (E)no person living is righteous in Your sight.
For the enemy has persecuted my soul;
He has crushed my life (F)to the ground;
He (G)has made me dwell in dark places, like those who have long been dead.
Therefore (H)my spirit [a]feels weak within me;
My heart is [b](I)appalled within me.

I (J)remember the days of old;
I (K)meditate on all Your accomplishments;
I (L)reflect on the work of Your hands.
I (M)spread out my hands to You;
My (N)soul longs for You, like a weary land. Selah

(O)Answer me quickly, Lord, my (P)spirit fails;
(Q)Do not hide Your face from me,
Or I will be the same as (R)those who go down to the pit.
Let me hear Your (S)faithfulness (T)in the morning,
For I trust (U)in You;
Teach me the (V)way in which I should walk;
For to You I (W)lift up my soul.
(X)Save me, Lord, from my enemies;
[c]I take refuge in You.

10 (Y)Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Let (Z)Your good Spirit (AA)lead me on level [d]ground.
11 (AB)For the sake of Your name, Lord, (AC)revive me.
(AD)In Your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble.
12 And in Your faithfulness, [e](AE)destroy my enemies,
And (AF)eliminate all those who attack my soul,
For (AG)I am Your servant.

Prayer for Rescue and Prosperity.

A Psalm of David.

144 Blessed be the Lord, (AH)my rock,
Who (AI)trains my hands for war,
And my fingers for battle;
My faithfulness and (AJ)my fortress,
My (AK)stronghold and my savior,
My (AL)shield and He in whom I take refuge,
Who (AM)subdues [f]my people under me.
Lord, (AN)what is man, that You look after him?
Or a son of man, that You think of him?
(AO)Man is like the breath;
His (AP)days are like a passing shadow.

(AQ)Bend down Your heavens, Lord, and (AR)come down;
(AS)Touch the mountains, that they may smoke.
Flash forth (AT)lightning and scatter them;
Send out Your (AU)arrows and confuse them.
Reach out with Your hand (AV)from on high;
Rescue me and (AW)save me from great waters,
From the hand of (AX)foreigners
Whose mouths (AY)speak deceit,
And whose (AZ)right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

God, I will sing a (BA)new song to You;
On a (BB)harp of ten strings I will sing praises to You,
10 Who (BC)gives salvation to kings,
Who (BD)rescues His servant David from the evil sword.
11 Rescue me and save me from the hand of (BE)foreigners,
Whose mouth (BF)speaks deceit
And whose (BG)right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

12 When our sons in their youth are like (BH)growing plants,
And our daughters like (BI)corner pillars [g]fashioned for a palace,
13 Our (BJ)granaries are full, providing every kind of produce,
And our flocks deliver thousands and ten thousands in our [h]fields;
14 May our (BK)cattle [i]be bred
Without [j](BL)mishap and without [k](BM)loss,
May there be no (BN)outcry in our streets!
15 Blessed are the people who are so situated;
(BO)Blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!

The Lord Exalted for His Goodness.

A Psalm of Praise, of David.

145 I will (BP)exalt You, (BQ)my God, the King,
And I will (BR)bless Your name forever and ever.
Every day I will bless You,
And I will (BS)praise Your name forever and ever.
(BT)Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised;
And His (BU)greatness is unsearchable.
One (BV)generation will praise Your works to another,
And will declare Your mighty acts.
On the (BW)glorious [l]splendor of Your majesty
And (BX)on Your wonderful works, I will meditate.
People will speak of the [m]power of Your (BY)awesome acts,
And I will (BZ)tell of Your greatness.
They will burst forth [n]in speaking of Your (CA)abundant goodness,
And will (CB)shout joyfully of Your righteousness.

The Lord is (CC)gracious and compassionate;
Slow to anger and great in mercy.
The Lord is (CD)good to all,
And His (CE)mercies are over all His works.
10 (CF)All Your works will give thanks to You, Lord,
And Your (CG)godly ones will bless You.
11 They will speak of the (CH)glory of Your kingdom,
And talk of Your might,
12 To (CI)make known to the sons of mankind [o]Your mighty acts,
And the (CJ)glory of the majesty of [p]Your kingdom.
13 Your kingdom is [q]an (CK)everlasting kingdom,
And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.
[r]The Lord is faithful in His words,
And holy in all His works.

14 The Lord (CL)supports all who fall,
And (CM)raises up all who are bowed down.
15 The eyes of all [s]look to You,
And You (CN)give them their food in due time.
16 You (CO)open Your hand
And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

17 The Lord is (CP)righteous in all His ways,
And kind in all His works.
18 The Lord is (CQ)near to all who call on Him,
To all who call on Him (CR)in truth.
19 He will (CS)fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He will also (CT)hear their cry for help and save them.
20 The Lord (CU)watches over all who love Him,
But He will destroy all the (CV)wicked.
21 My (CW)mouth will speak the praise of the Lord,
And (CX)all flesh will (CY)bless His holy name forever and ever.

21 In (A)the [a]Law it is written: “(B)By men of strange tongues and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people, and even so they will not listen to Me,” says the Lord. 22 So then, tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers; but (C)prophecy is not for unbelievers, but for those who believe. 23 Therefore if the whole church gathers together and all the people speak in tongues, and [b]outsiders or unbelievers enter, will they not say that (D)you are insane? 24 But if all (E)prophesy, and an unbeliever or an [c]outsider enters, he is (F)convicted by all, he is called to account by all; 25 (G)the secrets of his heart are disclosed; and so he will (H)fall on his face and worship God, (I)declaring that God is certainly among you.

26 (J)What is the outcome then, (K)brothers and sisters? When you assemble, (L)each one has a (M)psalm, has a (N)teaching, has a (O)revelation, has a (P)tongue, has an (Q)interpretation. (R)All things are to be done for edification. 27 If anyone speaks in a (S)tongue, it must be by two or at the most three, and each one in turn, and one is to (T)interpret; 28 but if there is no interpreter, he is to keep silent in church; and have him speak to himself and to God. 29 Have two or three (U)prophets speak, and have the others (V)pass judgment. 30 But if a revelation is made to another who is seated, then the first one is to keep silent. 31 For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all may be [d]exhorted; 32 and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets; 33 for God is not a God of (W)confusion, but of peace.

As in (X)all the churches of the [e](Y)saints, 34 the women are to (Z)keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but (AA)are to subject themselves, just as (AB)the Law also says. 35 If they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is [f]improper for a woman to speak in church. 36 Or was it from you that the word of God first went out? Or has it come to you only?

37 (AC)If anyone thinks that he is a prophet or (AD)spiritual, let him recognize that the things which I write to you (AE)are the Lord’s commandment. 38 But if anyone does not recognize this, [g]he is not recognized.

39 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, (AF)earnestly desire to (AG)prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. 40 But (AH)all things must be done properly and in an orderly way.
