Nahum 2:6-11

6 (A)The river gates are opened;
the palace (B)melts away;
7 its mistress[a] is (C)stripped;[b] she is carried off,
her slave girls (D)lamenting,
moaning like doves
and beating their breasts.
8 (E)Nineveh is like a pool
whose waters run away.[c]
“Halt! Halt!” they cry,
but (F)none turns back.
9 Plunder the silver,
plunder the gold!
There is no end of the treasure
or of the wealth of all precious things.
10 (G)Desolate! Desolation and ruin!
(H)Hearts melt and (I)knees tremble;
(J)anguish is in all loins;
(K)all faces grow pale!
11 Where is the lions' den,
the feeding place of (L)the young lions,
where the lion and lioness went,
where his cubs were, with (M)none to disturb?
