26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.
27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.
28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.
29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

New International Version
26 Then he released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged,(A) and handed him over to be crucified.
The Soldiers Mock Jesus(B)
27 Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium(C) and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him. 28 They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him,(D) 29 and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand. Then they knelt in front of him and mocked him. “Hail, king of the Jews!” they said.(E)
