Matthew 12:17-22
New American Standard Bible
17 This happened so that what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet would be fulfilled:
18 “(A)Behold, My [a]Servant whom I [b]have chosen;
(B)My Beloved in whom My soul [c]delights;
(C)I will put My Spirit upon Him,
(D)And He will proclaim [d]justice to the [e]Gentiles.
19 (E)He will not quarrel, nor cry out;
Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets.
20 (F)A bent reed He will not break off,
And a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish,
Until He [f]leads [g]justice to victory.
21 (G)And in His name the [h]Gentiles will hope.”
The Pharisees Rebuked
22 (H)Then a (I)demon-possessed man who was blind and unable to speak was brought to [i]Jesus, and He healed him so that the man who was unable to speak talked and [j]could see.
