²⁷ And as Jesus passed from thence, there followed him two blind men crying out and saying, Have mercy on us, O Son of David.

²⁸ And when he was come to the house, the blind men came to him. And Jesus saith to them, Do you believe, that I can do this unto you? They say to him, Yea, Lord.

²⁹ Then he touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith, be it done unto you.

³⁰ And their eyes were opened, and Jesus strictly charged them, saying, See that no man know this.

³¹ But they going out, spread his fame abroad in all that country.

³² And when they were gone out, behold they brought him a dumb man, possessed with a devil.

³³ And after the devil was cast out, the dumb man spoke, and the multitudes wondered, saying, Never was the like seen in Israel.

³⁴ But the Pharisees said, By the prince of devils he casteth out devils.

6 And going out from thence, he went into his own country; and his disciples followed him.

² And when the sabbath was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were in admiration at his doctrine, saying: How came this man by all these things? and what wisdom is this that is given to him, and such mighty works as are wrought by his hands?

³ Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joseph, and Jude, and Simon? are not also his sisters here with us? And they were scandalized in regard of him.

⁴ And Jesus said to them: A prophet is not without honor, but in his own country, and in his own house, and among his own kindred.

⁵ And he could not do any miracles there, only that he cured a few that were sick, laying his hands upon them.

⁶ And he wondered because of their unbelief, and he went through the villages round about teaching.

⁵³ And it came to pass: when Jesus had finished these parables, he passed from thence.

⁵⁴ And coming into his own country, he taught them in their synagogues, so that they wondered and said: How came this man by this wisdom and miracles?

⁵⁵ Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary, and his brethren James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Jude:

⁵⁶ And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence therefore hath he all these things?

⁵⁷ And they were scandalized in his regard. But Jesus said to them: A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

⁵⁸ And he wrought not many miracles there, because of their unbelief.

³⁵ And Jesus went about all the cities, and towns, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease, and every infirmity.

³⁶ And seeing the multitudes, he had compassion on them: because they were distressed, and lying like sheep that have no shepherd.

³⁷ Then he saith to his disciples, The harvest indeed is great, but the labourers are few.

³⁸ Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth labourers into his harvest.

⁷ And he called the twelve; and began to send them two and two, and gave them power over unclean spirits.

⁸ And he commanded them that they should take nothing for the way, but a staff only: no scrip, no bread, nor money in their purse,

⁹ But to be shod with sandals, and that they should not put on two coats.

¹⁰ And he said to them: Wheresoever you shall enter into an house, there abide till you depart from that place.

¹¹ And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you; going forth from thence, shake off the dust from your feet for a testimony to them.

¹² And going forth they preached that men should do penance:

¹³ And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.
