23 Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 24 “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘(A)In the [a]seventh month on the first of the month you shall have a [b]rest, a (B)reminder by blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. 25 You shall (C)not do any laborious work, but you shall present an offering by fire to the Lord.’”

The Day of Atonement

26 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 27 “On exactly (D)the tenth day of this seventh month is (E)the Day of Atonement; it shall be a holy convocation for you, and you shall humble [c]yourselves and present an offering by fire to the Lord. 28 You shall not do any work on this very day, for it is a (F)Day of Atonement, (G)to make atonement on your behalf before the Lord your God. 29 If there is any [d]person who does not humble himself on this very day, (H)he shall be cut off from his people. 30 As for any person who does any work on this very day, that person I will eliminate from among his people. 31 You shall not do any work. It is to be a permanent statute throughout your generations in all your dwelling places. 32 It is to be a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you shall humble [e]yourselves; on the ninth of the month at evening, from evening until evening, you shall keep your Sabbath.”

33 Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 34 “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘On (I)the fifteenth of this [f]seventh month is the (J)Feast of Booths for seven days to the Lord. 35 On the first day is a holy convocation; you shall (K)not do any laborious work.

The Festival of Trumpets(A)

23 The Lord said to Moses, 24 “Say to the Israelites: ‘On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of sabbath rest, a sacred assembly(B) commemorated with trumpet blasts.(C) 25 Do no regular work,(D) but present a food offering to the Lord.(E)’”

The Day of Atonement(F)

26 The Lord said to Moses, 27 “The tenth day of this seventh month(G) is the Day of Atonement.(H) Hold a sacred assembly(I) and deny yourselves,[a] and present a food offering to the Lord. 28 Do not do any work(J) on that day, because it is the Day of Atonement, when atonement is made for you before the Lord your God. 29 Those who do not deny themselves on that day must be cut off from their people.(K) 30 I will destroy from among their people(L) anyone who does any work on that day. 31 You shall do no work at all. This is to be a lasting ordinance(M) for the generations to come, wherever you live. 32 It is a day of sabbath rest(N) for you, and you must deny yourselves. From the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening you are to observe your sabbath.”(O)

33 The Lord said to Moses, 34 “Say to the Israelites: ‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh(Q) month the Lord’s Festival of Tabernacles(R) begins, and it lasts for seven days. 35 The first day is a sacred assembly;(S) do no regular work.(T)
