4 For certain people have (A)crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand [a](B)marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn (C)the grace of our God into (D)indecent behavior and (E)deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
5 Now I want to (F)remind you, though (G)you know everything once and for all, that [b]the Lord, (H)after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, [c]subsequently destroyed those who did not believe. 6 And (I)angels who did not keep their own domain but abandoned their proper dwelling place, these He has (J)kept in eternal restraints under darkness for the judgment of the great day, 7 just as (K)Sodom and Gomorrah and the (L)cities around them, since they in the same way as these angels indulged in sexual perversion and (M)went after [d]strange flesh, are exhibited as an [e](N)example in undergoing the (O)punishment of eternal fire.
8 Yet in the same way these people also, dreaming, (P)defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak abusively of angelic [f]majesties. 9 But (Q)Michael (R)the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about (S)the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him an abusive judgment, but said, “(T)The Lord rebuke you!” 10 But (U)these people disparage all the things that they do not understand; and (V)all the things that they know by instinct, (W)like unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed. 11 Woe to them! For they have gone (X)the way of Cain, and for pay [g]they have given themselves up to (Y)the error of Balaam, and (Z)perished in the rebellion of Korah. 12 These are the ones who are [h]hidden reefs (AA)in your love feasts when they feast with you (AB)without fear, like shepherds caring only for themselves; (AC)clouds without water, (AD)carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, [i]doubly dead, (AE)uprooted; 13 (AF)wild waves of the sea, churning up (AG)their own shameful deeds like dirty foam; wandering stars, (AH)for whom the [j]gloom of darkness has been reserved forever.

4 For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about[a] long ago have secretly slipped in among you.(A) They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.(B)
5 Though you already know all this,(C) I want to remind you(D) that the Lord[b] at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.(E) 6 And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day.(F) 7 In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah(G) and the surrounding towns(H) gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.(I)
8 In the very same way, on the strength of their dreams these ungodly people pollute their own bodies, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings.(J) 9 But even the archangel(K) Michael,(L) when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses,(M) did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”[c](N) 10 Yet these people slander whatever they do not understand, and the very things they do understand by instinct—as irrational animals do—will destroy them.(O)
11 Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain;(P) they have rushed for profit into Balaam’s error;(Q) they have been destroyed in Korah’s rebellion.(R)
12 These people are blemishes at your love feasts,(S) eating with you without the slightest qualm—shepherds who feed only themselves.(T) They are clouds without rain,(U) blown along by the wind;(V) autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted(W)—twice dead. 13 They are wild waves of the sea,(X) foaming up their shame;(Y) wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever.(Z)
