Jeremiah 21:8-10

8 “Now you shall say to this people, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Behold, (A)I set before you the way of life and the way of death. 9 He who (B)remains in this city shall die by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence; but he who goes out and [a]defects to the Chaldeans who besiege you, he shall (C)live, and his life shall be as a prize to him. 10 For I have (D)set My face against this city for adversity and not for good,” says the Lord. (E)“It shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall (F)burn it with fire.” ’

8 “Furthermore, tell the people, ‘This is what the Lord says: See, I am setting before you the way of life(A) and the way of death. 9 Whoever stays in this city will die by the sword, famine or plague.(B) But whoever goes out and surrenders(C) to the Babylonians who are besieging you will live; they will escape with their lives.(D) 10 I have determined to do this city harm(E) and not good, declares the Lord. It will be given into the hands(F) of the king of Babylon, and he will destroy it with fire.’(G)
