From the sole of your foot to the top of your head(A)
    there is no soundness(B)
only wounds and welts(C)
    and open sores,
not cleansed or bandaged(D)
    or soothed with olive oil.(E)

Your country is desolate,(F)
    your cities burned with fire;(G)
your fields are being stripped by foreigners(H)
    right before you,
    laid waste as when overthrown by strangers.(I)
Daughter Zion(J) is left(K)
    like a shelter in a vineyard,
like a hut(L) in a cucumber field,
    like a city under siege.

17 “I have no husband,” she replied.

Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband. 18 The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.”

19 “Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that you are a prophet.(A) 20 Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain,(B) but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.”(C)
