Isaiah 13:13-19

New International Version

¹³ Therefore I will make the heavens tremble;^(A)
    and the earth will shake^(B) from its place
at the wrath^(C) of the Lord Almighty,
    in the day of his burning anger.^(D)

¹⁴ Like a hunted^(E) gazelle,
    like sheep without a shepherd,^(F)
they will all return to their own people,
    they will flee^(G) to their native land.^(H)
15 Whoever is captured will be thrust through;
    all who are caught will fall^(I) by the sword.^(J)
16 Their infants^(K) will be dashed to pieces before their eyes;
    their houses will be looted and their wives violated.^(L)

¹⁷ See, I will stir up^(M) against them the Medes,^(N)
    who do not care for silver
    and have no delight in gold.^(O)
18 Their bows^(P) will strike down the young men;^(Q)
    they will have no mercy^(R) on infants,
    nor will they look with compassion on children.^(S)
19 Babylon,^(T) the jewel of kingdoms,^(U)
    the pride and glory^(V) of the Babylonians,^[a]
will be overthrown^(W) by God
    like Sodom and Gomorrah.^(X)
