Genesis 11:2-4
New American Standard Bible
2 And it came about, as they journeyed [a]east, that they found a plain in the land (A)of Shinar and [b]settled there. 3 Then they said to one another, “Come, let’s make bricks and [c]fire them thoroughly.” And they used brick for stone, and they used (B)tar for mortar. 4 And they said, “Come, let’s build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top (C)will reach into heaven, and let’s make (D)a name for ourselves; otherwise we (E)will be scattered abroad over the face of all the earth.”

Genesis 11:2-4
New International Version
2 As people moved eastward,[a] they found a plain in Shinar[b](A) and settled there.
3 They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks(B) and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone,(C) and tar(D) for mortar. 4 Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens,(E) so that we may make a name(F) for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered(G) over the face of the whole earth.”(H)
