Daniel 1:5-7

⁵The king assigned them a daily portion of ^(A)the food that the king ate, and of ^(B)the wine that he drank. They were to be educated for ^(C)three years, and at the end of that time they were to ^(D)stand before the king. ⁶Among these were ^(E)Daniel, ^(F)Hananiah, ^(G)Mishael, and ^(H)Azariah of the tribe of Judah. ⁷And ^(I)the chief of the eunuchs ^(J)gave them names: ^(K)Daniel he called Belteshazzar, Hananiah he called Shadrach, Mishael he called Meshach, and Azariah he called Abednego.

New International Version

⁵The king assigned them a daily amount of food and wine^(A) from the king’s table.^(B) They were to be trained for three years,^(C) and after that they were to enter the king’s service.^(D)

⁶Among those who were chosen were some from Judah: Daniel,^(E) Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah.^(F) ⁷The chief official gave them new names: to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar;^(G) to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego.^(H)

⁵And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.

⁶Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:

⁷Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego.
