A terceira visão: Jerusalém é medida
2 Tornei a levantar os meus olhos, e olhei, e vi um homem em cuja mão estava um cordel de medir. 2 E eu disse: Para onde vais tu? E ele me disse: Medir Jerusalém, para ver qual é a sua largura e qual o seu comprimento. 3 E eis que saiu o anjo que falava comigo, e outro anjo lhe saiu ao encontro 4 e lhe disse: Corre, fala a este jovem, dizendo: Jerusalém será habitada como as aldeias sem muros, por causa da multidão, nela, dos homens e dos animais. 5 E eu, diz o Senhor, serei para ela um muro de fogo em redor e eu mesmo serei, no meio dela, a sua glória.
6 Olá! Oh! Fugi, agora, da terra do Norte, diz o Senhor, porque vos espalhei como os quatro ventos do céu, diz o Senhor. 7 Oh! Sião! Livra-te tu que habitas com a filha da Babilônia. 8 Porque assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Depois da glória, ele me enviou às nações que vos despojaram; porque aquele que tocar em vós toca na menina do seu olho. 9 Porque eis aí levantarei a minha mão sobre eles, e eles virão a ser a presa daqueles que os serviram; assim, sabereis vós que o Senhor dos Exércitos me enviou. 10 Exulta e alegra-te, ó filha de Sião, porque eis que venho e habitarei no meio de ti, diz o Senhor. 11 E, naquele dia, muitas nações se ajuntarão ao Senhor e serão o meu povo; e habitarei no meio de ti, e saberás que o Senhor dos Exércitos me enviou a ti. 12 Então, o Senhor possuirá a Judá como sua porção na terra santa e ainda escolherá a Jerusalém. 13 Cale-se, toda a carne, diante do Senhor, porque ele despertou na sua santa morada.

Jerusalém é medida
2 Quando tornei a olhar em volta, vi um homem com uma fita métrica na mão. 2 “Onde vais?”, perguntei-lhe.
“Medir Jerusalém no seu comprimento e na sua largura.”
3 O anjo que estava a falar comigo afastou-se e um outro anjo foi ao seu encontro. 4 E disse-lhe: “Corre e diz a este jovem que Jerusalém vai ser de novo habitada como as aldeias sem muros. Serão tantos os seus habitantes e animais que já não poderá ter muralhas. 5 Porque eu mesmo, diz o Senhor, serei um muro protetor de fogo ao seu redor e serei a glória no meio da cidade!
6 Venham, fujam da terra do norte, da Babilónia, diz o Senhor a todos os exilados ali. Espalhei-vos aos quatro ventos da Terra, mas tornarei a trazer-vos à pátria, diz o Senhor. 7 Foge, foge, Sião, tu que habitas na Babilónia!
8 Porque isto é o que diz o Senhor dos exércitos: enviou-me para buscar a sua glória entre as nações que vos saquearam. Portanto, qualquer que vos tocar, fere a menina dos meus olhos! 9 Esmagá-los-ei com o meu punho e os seus escravos tornar-se-ão os seus senhores! Saberão então que foi o Senhor dos exércitos quem me enviou.
10 Vim para viver convosco, no vosso meio, diz o Senhor. Por isso, canta, ó filha de Sião, e alegra-te! 11 Nessa altura, muitas nações se converterão ao Senhor e serão também meu povo; viverei no meio de ti. Saberão então que foi o Senhor dos exércitos quem me enviou a ti. 12 Judá será a propriedade do Senhor na terra santa, visto que Deus mais uma vez decidirá escolher Jerusalém. 13 Cale-se toda a humanidade perante o Senhor, porque ele se levantou da sua santa morada!”

Third Vision: The Man with the Tape Measure
2 1-5 I looked up and was surprised to see
a man holding a tape measure in his hand.
I said, “What are you up to?”
“I’m on my way,” he said, “to survey Jerusalem,
to measure its width and length.”
Just then the Messenger-Angel on his way out
met another angel coming in and said,
“Run! Tell the Surveyor, ‘Jerusalem will burst its walls—
bursting with people, bursting with animals.
And I’ll be right there with her’—God’s Decree—‘a wall of fire
around unwalled Jerusalem and a radiant presence within.’”

6-7 “Up on your feet! Get out of there—and now!” God says so.
“Return from your far exile.
I scattered you to the four winds.” God’s Decree.
“Escape from Babylon, Zion, and come home—now!”

8-9 God-of-the-Angel-Armies, the One of Glory who sent me on my mission, commenting on the godless nations who stripped you and left you homeless, said, “Anyone who hits you, hits me—bloodies my nose, blackens my eye. Yes, and at the right time I’ll give the signal and they’ll be stripped and thrown out by their own servants.” Then you’ll know for sure that God-of-the-Angel-Armies sent me on this mission.

10 “Shout and celebrate, Daughter of Zion!
I’m on my way. I’m moving into your neighborhood!”
God’s Decree.

11-12 Many godless nations will be linked up with God at that time. (“They will become my family! I’ll live in their homes!”) And then you’ll know for sure that God-of-the-Angel-Armies sent me on this mission. God will reclaim his Judah inheritance in the Holy Land. He’ll again make clear that Jerusalem is his choice.

13 Quiet, everyone! Shh! Silence before God. Something’s afoot in his holy house. He’s on the move!

A Man With a Measuring Line
2 [a]Then I looked up, and there before me was a man with a measuring line in his hand. 2 I asked, “Where are you going?”
He answered me, “To measure Jerusalem, to find out how wide and how long it is.”(A)
3 While the angel who was speaking to me was leaving, another angel came to meet him 4 and said to him: “Run, tell that young man, ‘Jerusalem will be a city without walls(B) because of the great number(C) of people and animals in it.(D) 5 And I myself will be a wall(E) of fire(F) around it,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will be its glory(G) within.’(H)
6 “Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north,” declares the Lord, “for I have scattered(I) you to the four winds of heaven,”(J) declares the Lord.(K)
7 “Come, Zion! Escape,(L) you who live in Daughter Babylon!”(M) 8 For this is what the Lord Almighty says: “After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye(N)— 9 I will surely raise my hand against them so that their slaves will plunder them.[b](O) Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me.(P)
10 “Shout(Q) and be glad, Daughter Zion.(R) For I am coming,(S) and I will live among you,”(T) declares the Lord.(U) 11 “Many nations will be joined with the Lord in that day and will become my people.(V) I will live among you and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.(W) 12 The Lord will inherit(X) Judah(Y) as his portion in the holy land and will again choose(Z) Jerusalem. 13 Be still(AA) before the Lord, all mankind, because he has roused himself from his holy dwelling.(AB)”
