^5 (A)not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through ^(B)the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

⁴ Therefore we were ^(A)buried with Him through baptism into death, that ^(B)just as Christ was raised from the dead by ^(C)the glory of the Father, ^(D)even so we also should walk in newness of life.

^5 (E)For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,
