¹² Now above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath.^(A) Your “yes” must be “yes,” and your “no” must be “no,” so that you won’t fall under judgment.^[a]

⁴ traitors,^(A) reckless,^(B) conceited,^(C) lovers of pleasure^(D) rather than lovers of God,

²⁷ “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs,^(A) which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and every impurity.

¹⁵ “You must not act unjustly^(A) when deciding a case. Do not be partial^(B) to the poor or give preference to the rich;^(C) judge your neighbor fairly.

⁹ Slaves are to be submissive to their masters^(A) in everything, and to be well-pleasing,^(B) not talking back

¹¹ If anyone speaks, it should be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, it should be from the strength God provides,^(A) so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To Him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

⁶ The one who is taught the message must share^(A) all his good things with the teacher.

¹⁹ They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption, since people are enslaved to whatever defeats them.^(A)

¹³ For you were called^(A) to be free, brothers; only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.
