Romans 4:5-12
New King James Version
David Celebrates the Same Truth
5 But to him who (A)does not work but believes on Him who justifies (B)the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, 6 just as David also (C)describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:
7 “Blessed(D) are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
And whose sins are covered;
8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.”
Abraham Justified Before Circumcision
9 Does this blessedness then come upon the circumcised only, or upon the uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness. 10 How then was it accounted? While he was circumcised, or uncircumcised? Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised. 11 And (E)he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised, that (F)he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness might be imputed to them also, 12 and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of the faith which our father (G)Abraham had while still uncircumcised.

Romans 4:5-12
New International Version
5 However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness.(A) 6 David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:
7 “Blessed are those
whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
8 Blessed is the one
whose sin the Lord will never count against them.”[a](B)
9 Is this blessedness only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised?(C) We have been saying that Abraham’s faith was credited to him as righteousness.(D) 10 Under what circumstances was it credited? Was it after he was circumcised, or before? It was not after, but before! 11 And he received circumcision as a sign, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised.(E) So then, he is the father(F) of all who believe(G) but have not been circumcised, in order that righteousness might be credited to them. 12 And he is then also the father of the circumcised who not only are circumcised but who also follow in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.
