The Just Live by Faith

¹⁶ For ^(A)I am not ashamed of the gospel ^[a]of Christ, for ^(B)it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, ^(C)for the Jew first and also for the Greek. ¹⁷ For ^(D)in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ^(E)“The just shall live by faith.”

¹⁷ And ^(A)take the helmet of salvation, and ^(B)the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; ^18 (C)praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, ^(D)being watchful to this end with all perseverance and ^(E)supplication for all the saints— ¹⁹ and for me, that utterance may be given to me, ^(F)that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, ²⁰ for which ^(G)I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

⁷ For a ^[a]bishop must be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, ^(A)not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, ⁸ but hospitable, a lover of what is good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled, ⁹ holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict.
