³⁸ For I am convinced that neither ^(A)death, nor life, nor ^(B)angels, nor rulers, nor ^(C)things present, nor things to come, nor powers, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from ^(D)the love of God, which is ^(E)in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹⁵ And He died for all, so that they who live would no longer ^(A)live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

²⁰ I have been ^(A)crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but ^(B)Christ lives in me. And the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in ^(C)the Son of God, who ^(D)loved me and ^(E)gave Himself up for me.

²⁰ according to my ^(A)earnest expectation and ^(B)hope, that I will not be put to shame in anything, but that with ^(C)all boldness, Christ will even now, as always, be ^(D)magnified in my body, ^(E)whether by life or by death.

To Live Is Christ

²¹ For to me, ^(F)to live is Christ and to die is gain. ^22 [a]But if I am to live on in the flesh, this will mean ^(G)fruitful labor for me; and I do not know what I will choose. ²³ But I am hard-pressed ^[b]between the two, having the ^(H)desire to depart and ^(I)be with Christ, for that is very much better, ²⁴ yet to remain on in the flesh is more necessary for your sake. ^25 (J)And convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy ^[c]in the faith, ²⁶ so that your reason for ^(K)boasting may abound in Christ Jesus in me, through my coming to you again.

²⁷ Only ^[d]live your lives in a manner ^(L)worthy of the ^(M)gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear about your circumstances, that you are ^(N)standing firm in ^(O)one spirit, with one ^[e]mind ^(P)contending together for the faith of the gospel, ²⁸ in no way alarmed by your opponents—which is a ^(Q)sign of destruction for them, but of salvation for you, and that too, from God. ²⁹ For to you ^(R)it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to ^(S)suffer for His sake, ³⁰ having the same ^(T)struggle which ^(U)you saw in me, and now hear to be in me.
