15 But [a]the gracious gift is not like the offense. For if by the offense of (A)the one (B)the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by (C)the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many. 16 The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand (D)the judgment arose from one offense, [b]resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the gracious gift arose from many offenses, [c]resulting in justification. 17 For if by the offense of the one, death reigned (E)through the one, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness (F)reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

18 So then, as through (G)one offense [d]the result was condemnation to all mankind, so also through one (H)act of righteousness [e]the result was (I)justification of life to all mankind. 19 For as through the one man’s disobedience (J)the many (K)were made sinners, so also through (L)the obedience of the One (M)the many will be made righteous. 20 [f](N)The Law came in so that the offense would increase; but where sin increased, (O)grace abounded all the more, 21 so that, as (P)sin reigned in death, so also (Q)grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Believers Are Dead to Sin, Alive to God

(R)What shall we say then? Are we to (S)continue in sin so that grace may increase? [g](T)Far from it! How shall we who (U)died to sin still live in it? Or do you not know that all of us who have been (V)baptized into (W)Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore we have been (X)buried with Him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was (Y)raised from the dead through the (Z)glory of the Father, so we too may walk in (AA)newness of life. For (AB)if we have become [h]united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be [i]in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our (AC)old [j]self was (AD)crucified with Him, in order that our (AE)body of sin might be [k]done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for (AF)the one who has died is [l]freed from sin.

Now (AG)if we have died with Christ, we believe that (AH)we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been (AI)raised from the dead, [m]is never to die again; (AJ)death no longer is master over Him. 10 For [n]the death that He died, He died to sin once for all time; but [o]the life that He lives, He lives to [p]God. 11 So you too, consider yourselves to be (AK)dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

12 Therefore sin is not to (AL)reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts,
