² Do not be conformed^(A) to this age,^(B) but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,^(C) so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will^(D) of God.

⁴ Adulteresses!^[a][b] Don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? So whoever wants to be the world’s friend becomes God’s enemy.^(A)

²⁴ “No one can be a slave of two masters, since either he will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot be slaves of God and of money.^(A)

¹⁴ As obedient children,^(A) do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance.

⁴ who gave Himself for our sins^(A) to rescue us from this present evil age,^(B) according to the will of our God and Father.^(C)

²³ you are being renewed^[a] in the spirit^(A) of your minds;

¹⁰ discerning^(A) what is pleasing^(B) to the Lord.
