²⁰ Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith.^(A) Do not be arrogant,^(B) but tremble.^(C)

¹⁴ For if those who depend on the law are heirs, faith means nothing and the promise is worthless,^(A)

Peace and Hope

5 Therefore, since we have been justified^(A) through faith,^(B) we^[a] have peace^(C) with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,^{(D) 2} through whom we have gained access^(E) by faith into this grace in which we now stand.^(F) And we^[b] boast in the hope^(G) of the glory of God.

³ By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command,^(A) so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

⁶ And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him^(A) must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

⁷ By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen,^(B) in holy fear built an ark^(C) to save his family.^(D) By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.^(E)
