⁴ For ^(A)Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

⁵ For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, ^(B)“The man who does those things shall live by them.” ⁶ But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, ^(C)“Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) ⁷ or, ^(D)“ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). ⁸ But what does it say? ^(E)“The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): ⁹ that ^(F)if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. ¹⁰ For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

²³ And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ ^(A)and love one another, as He gave ^[a]us commandment.

^31 (A)but these are written that ^(B)you may believe that Jesus ^(C)is the Christ, the Son of God, ^(D)and that believing you may have life in His name.

⁹ If we receive ^(A)the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; ^(B)for this is the witness of ^[a]God which He has testified of His Son. ¹⁰ He who believes in the Son of God ^(C)has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God ^(D)has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. ¹¹ And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. ^12 (E)He who has the Son has ^[b]life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. ¹³ These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, ^[c]and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

³⁷ Jesus said to him, ^(A)“‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ ³⁸ This is the first and great commandment. ³⁹ And the second is like it: ^(B)‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ^40 (C)On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

^39 (A)You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and ^(B)these are they which testify of Me.

²⁷ “Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, ²⁸ for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’ ²⁹ Abraham said to him, ^(A)‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’ ³⁰ And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’
