¹⁶ For I am not ashamed of the gospel,^(A) because it is the power of God^(B) that brings salvation to everyone who believes:^(C) first to the Jew,^(D) then to the Gentile.^{(E) 17} For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed^(F)—a righteousness that is by faith^(G) from first to last,^[a] just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”^[b](H)

⁹ So those who rely on faith^(A) are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.^(B)

¹⁰ For all who rely on the works of the law^(C) are under a curse,^(D) as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”^{[a](E) 11} Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God,^(F) because “the righteous will live by faith.”^[b](G)
