Romans 6:3-11

Darby Translation

³Are you ignorant that we, as many as have been baptised unto Christ Jesus, have been baptised unto his death?

⁴We have been buried therefore with him by baptism unto death, in order that, even as Christ has been raised up from among [the] dead by the glory of the Father, so *we* also should walk in newness of life.

⁵For if we are become identified with [him] in the likeness of his death, so also we shall be of [his] resurrection;

⁶knowing this, that our old man has been crucified with [him], that the body of sin might be annulled, that we should no longer serve sin.

⁷For he that has died is justified from sin.

⁸Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him,

⁹knowing that Christ having been raised up from among [the] dead dies no more: death has dominion over him no more.

¹⁰For in that he has died, he has died to sin once for all; but in that he lives, he lives to God.

¹¹So also *ye*, reckon yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Romans 6:3-11

New International Version

³Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized^(A) into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? ⁴We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death^(B) in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead^(C) through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.^(D)

⁵For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.^(E) ⁶For we know that our old self^(F) was crucified with him^(G) so that the body ruled by sin^(H) might be done away with,^[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin^(I)— ⁷because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.^(J)

⁸Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.^(K) ⁹For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead,^(L) he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.^(M) ¹⁰The death he died, he died to sin^(N) once for all;^(O) but the life he lives, he lives to God.
