^17 (A)The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. ^(B)To the one who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden ^(C)manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a ^(D)new name written on the stone ^(E)which no one knows except the one who receives it.’

¹³ So it came about at evening that ^(A)the quails came up and covered the camp, and in the morning ^(B)there was a layer of dew around the camp. ^14 (C)When the layer of dew ^[a]evaporated, behold, on the ^[b]surface of the wilderness ^(D)there was a fine flake-like thing, fine as the frost on the ground. ¹⁵ When the sons of Israel saw it, they said to one another, “^[c]What is it?” For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, “^(E)It is the bread which the Lord has given you to eat.

^26 (A)Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will be ^[a]none.”

²⁷ Yet it came about on the seventh day that some of the people went out to gather, but they found none. ²⁸ Then the Lord said to Moses, “^(B)How long do you refuse to keep My commandments and My ^[b]instructions? ²⁹ See, ^[c]the Lord has given you the Sabbath; for that reason He gives you bread for two days on the sixth day. Remain, everyone, in his place; no one is to leave his place on the seventh day.” ³⁰ So the people rested on the seventh day.

³¹ And the house of ^(C)Israel named the bread ^[d]manna, and it was like ^(D)coriander seed, white, and its taste was like wafers with honey. ³² Then Moses said, “This is ^[e]what the Lord has commanded: ‘A ^[f]full omer of it is to be kept safe throughout your generations, so that they may see the bread that I fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.’” ³³ And Moses said to Aaron, “^(E)Take a jar and put a ^[g]full omer of manna in it, and place it before the Lord to be kept safe throughout your generations.” ³⁴ As the Lord commanded Moses, so Aaron placed it before ^(F)the Testimony, to be kept. ³⁵ And ^(G)the sons of Israel ate the manna for forty years, until they came to an inhabited land; they ate the manna until they came to the border of the land of Canaan.

The Old and the New

9 Now even the first covenant had ^(A)regulations for divine worship and ^(B)the earthly sanctuary. ² For ^(C)a ^[a]tabernacle was equipped, the ^[b]outer sanctuary, in which were ^(D)the lampstand, ^(E)the table, and ^(F)the ^[c]sacred bread; this is called the Holy Place. ³ Behind ^(G)the second veil there was a ^[d]tabernacle which is called the ^(H)Most Holy Place, ⁴ having a golden ^[e](I)altar of incense and ^(J)the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was ^(K)a golden jar holding the manna, ^(L)Aaron’s staff which budded, and ^(M)the tablets of the covenant; ⁵ and above it were the ^(N)cherubim of glory ^(O)overshadowing the ^[f]atoning cover; but about these things we cannot now speak in detail.

³ And He humbled you and let you go hungry, and fed you with the manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, in order to make you ^[a]understand that ^(A)man shall not live on bread alone, but man shall live on everything that comes out of the mouth of the Lord.

^31 (A)Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: ‘^(B)He gave them bread out of heaven to eat.’” ³² Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven. ³³ For the bread of God is ^[a]that which ^(C)comes down out of heaven and gives life to the world.” ³⁴ Then they said to Him, “Lord, always ^(D)give us this bread.”

³⁵ Jesus said to them, “^(E)I am the bread of life; the one who comes to Me will not be hungry, and the one who believes in Me ^(F)will never be thirsty. ³⁶ But ^(G)I said to you that you have indeed seen Me, and yet you do not believe. ^37 (H)Everything that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I certainly will not cast out. ³⁸ For ^(I)I have come down from heaven, ^(J)not to do My own will, but ^(K)the will of Him who ^(L)sent Me. ³⁹ And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that of ^(M)everything that He has given Me I will ^(N)lose nothing, but will ^(O)raise it up on the last day. ⁴⁰ For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who ^(P)sees the Son and ^(Q)believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will ^(R)raise him up on the last day.”

^48 (A)I am the bread of life. ^49 (B)Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. ⁵⁰ This is the bread that ^(C)comes down out of heaven, so that anyone may eat from it and ^(D)not die. ^51 (E)I am the living bread that ^(F)came down out of heaven; if anyone eats from this bread, ^(G)he will live forever; and the bread which I will give ^(H)for the life of the world also is ^(I)My flesh.”

Marriage of the Lamb

⁷ Let’s rejoice and be glad and ^(A)give the glory to Him, because ^(B)the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His ^[a](C)bride has prepared herself.” ⁸ It was given to her to clothe herself in ^(D)fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the ^(E)righteous acts of the ^[b]saints.

⁹ Then ^(F)he *said to me, “^(G)Write: ‘^(H)Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb.’” And he *said to me, “^(I)These are the true words of God.”
