Revelation 5:8-6:12

⁸ And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders ^(A)fell down before the Lamb, ^(B)each holding a harp, and ^(C)golden bowls full of incense, ^(D)which are the prayers of the saints. ⁹ And they sang ^(E)a new song, saying,

¹¹ Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering ^(J)myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, ¹² saying with a loud voice,

¹³ And I heard ^(L)every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying,

¹⁴ And the four living creatures ^(M)said, “Amen!” and the elders ^(N)fell down and worshiped.

The Seven Seals

6 Now I watched when the Lamb opened one of ^(O)the seven seals, and I heard ^(P)one of the four living creatures say ^(Q)with a voice like thunder, ^(R)“Come!” ² And I looked, and behold, ^(S)a white horse! And ^(T)its rider had a bow, and ^(U)a crown was given to him, and he came out ^(V)conquering, and to conquer.

³ When he opened the second seal, I heard ^(W)the second living creature say, “Come!” ⁴ And out came another horse, ^(X)bright red. Its rider was permitted ^(Y)to take peace from the earth, so that people should slay one another, and he was given a great sword.

⁵ When he opened the third seal, I heard the ^(Z)third living creature say, “Come!” And I looked, and behold, ^(AA)a black horse! And its rider had a pair of scales in his hand. ⁶ And I heard what seemed to be a voice in the midst of the four living creatures, saying, ^(AB)“A quart^[a] of wheat for a denarius,^[b] and three quarts of barley for a denarius, and ^(AC)do not harm the oil and wine!”

⁷ When he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of ^(AD)the fourth living creature say, “Come!” ⁸ And I looked, and behold, ^(AE)a pale horse! And its rider's name was Death, and Hades followed him. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill ^(AF)with sword and with famine and with pestilence and ^(AG)by wild beasts of the earth.

⁹ When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under ^(AH)the altar ^(AI)the souls of those who had been slain ^(AJ)for the word of God and for ^(AK)the witness they had borne. ¹⁰ They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, ^(AL)holy and true, ^(AM)how long ^(AN)before you will judge and ^(AO)avenge our blood on ^(AP)those who dwell on the earth?” ¹¹ Then they were each given ^(AQ)a white robe and ^(AR)told to rest a little longer, ^(AS)until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers^{[c] (AT)}should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been.

¹² When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold, ^(AU)there was a great earthquake, and ^(AV)the sun became black as ^(AW)sackcloth, the full moon became like blood,
