⁸ The second angel blew his trumpet, and something like ^(A)a great mountain, burning with fire, was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea ^(B)became blood. ⁹ A third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of ^(C)the ships were destroyed.

³ The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and ^(A)it became like the blood of a corpse, and ^(B)every living thing died that was in the sea.

⁴ The third angel poured out his bowl into ^(C)the rivers and the springs of water, and ^(D)they became blood. ⁵ And I heard the angel in charge of the waters^[a] say,

¹⁰ The third angel blew his trumpet, and ^(A)a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on ^(B)the springs of water. ¹¹ The name of the star is Wormwood.^[a] A third of the waters ^(C)became wormwood, and many people died from the water, ^(D)because it had been made bitter.
