The Witnesses Killed

⁷ When they ^(A)finish their testimony, ^(B)the beast that ascends ^(C)out of the bottomless pit ^(D)will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them.

³ And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, ^(A)a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. ^4 (B)His tail drew a third ^(C)of the stars of heaven ^(D)and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood ^(E)before the woman who was ready to give birth, ^(F)to devour her Child as soon as it was born.

Satan Thrown Out of Heaven

⁷ And war broke out in heaven: ^(A)Michael and his angels fought ^(B)with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, ⁸ but they ^[a]did not prevail, nor was a place found for ^[b]them in heaven any longer. ⁹ So ^(C)the great dragon was cast out, ^(D)that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, ^(E)who deceives the whole world; ^(F)he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

¹² Therefore ^(A)rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! ^(B)Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, ^(C)because he knows that he has a short time.”

^13 (A)He performs great signs, ^(B)so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. ^14 (C)And he deceives ^[a]those who dwell on the earth ^(D)by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword ^(E)and lived. ¹⁵ He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak ^(F)and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. ¹⁶ He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, ^(G)to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads,
