⁶ and He made us into a ^(A)kingdom, ^(B)priests to ^[a](C)His God and Father—^(D)to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

⁵ For there is ^(A)one God, and ^(B)one mediator also between God and mankind, the ^(C)man Christ Jesus,

¹⁴ Therefore, since we have a great ^(A)high priest who has ^(B)passed through the heavens, Jesus ^(C)the Son of God, let’s hold firmly to our ^(D)confession. ¹⁵ For we do not have ^(E)a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been ^(F)tempted in all things just as we are, yet ^(G)without sin. ¹⁶ Therefore let’s ^(H)approach the throne of grace with ^(I)confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help at the time of our need.

A New and Living Way

¹⁹ Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we ^(A)have confidence to ^(B)enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by ^(C)a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through ^(D)the veil, that is, through His flesh, ²¹ and since we have ^(E)a great priest ^(F)over the house of God, ²² let’s ^(G)approach God with a ^[a]sincere heart in ^(H)full assurance of faith, having our hearts ^(I)sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies ^(J)washed with pure water.

⁷ Remember ^(A)those who led you, who spoke ^(B)the word of God to you; and considering the ^[a]result of their way of life, ^(C)imitate their faith. ^8 (D)Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, and forever. ^9 (E)Do not be misled by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to ^(F)be strengthened by grace, not by ^(G)foods, ^(H)through which those who ^[b]were so occupied were not benefited.

^17 (A)Obey your leaders and submit to them—for ^(B)they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account—so that they may do this with joy, not ^[a]groaning; for this would be unhelpful for you.

Concerning Elders

^17 (A)The elders who ^(B)lead well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who ^(C)work hard ^[a]at preaching and teaching.
