⁵⁰ He gives his king great victories;
    he shows unfailing love to his anointed,^(A)
    to David^(B) and to his descendants forever.^(C)

³² It is God who arms me with strength^(A)
    and keeps my way secure.^(B)
33 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;^(C)
    he causes me to stand on the heights.^(D)
34 He trains my hands for battle;^(E)
    my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

³⁷ I pursued my enemies^(A) and overtook them;
    I did not turn back till they were destroyed.
³⁸ I crushed them^(B) so that they could not rise;^(C)
    they fell beneath my feet.^(D)
39 You armed me with strength^(E) for battle;
    you humbled my adversaries^(F) before me.
⁴⁰ You made my enemies turn their backs^(G) in flight,
    and I destroyed^(H) my foes.

² The Lord will extend your mighty scepter^(A) from Zion,^(B) saying,
    “Rule^(C) in the midst of your enemies!”
³ Your troops will be willing
    on your day of battle.
Arrayed in holy splendor,^(D)
    your young men will come to you
    like dew from the morning’s womb.^[a](E)

⁴ The Lord has sworn
    and will not change his mind:^(F)
“You are a priest forever,^(G)
    in the order of Melchizedek.^(H)”

⁵ The Lord is at your right hand^[b];^(I)
    he will crush kings^(J) on the day of his wrath.^(K)
6 He will judge the nations,^(L) heaping up the dead^(M)
    and crushing the rulers^(N) of the whole earth.

⁵ You have rebuked the nations^(A) and destroyed the wicked;
    you have blotted out their name^(B) for ever and ever.
⁶ Endless ruin has overtaken my enemies,
    you have uprooted their cities;^(C)
    even the memory of them^(D) has perished.

⁷ The Lord reigns forever;^(A)
    he has established his throne^(B) for judgment.
⁸ He rules the world in righteousness^(C)
    and judges the peoples with equity.^(D)

¹¹ Sing the praises^(A) of the Lord, enthroned in Zion;^(B)
    proclaim among the nations^(C) what he has done.^(D)

¹³ Lord, see how my enemies^(A) persecute me!
    Have mercy^(B) and lift me up from the gates of death,^(C)
14 that I may declare your praises^(D)
    in the gates of Daughter Zion,^(E)
    and there rejoice in your salvation.^(F)

¹⁵ The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug;^(A)
    their feet are caught in the net they have hidden.^(B)
16 The Lord is known by his acts of justice;
    the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands.^[a](C)
17 The wicked go down to the realm of the dead,^(D)
    all the nations that forget God.^(E)
