Psalm 9:2-9

New International Version

³ My enemies turn back;
    they stumble and perish before you.
⁴ For you have upheld my right^(D) and my cause,^(E)
    sitting enthroned^(F) as the righteous judge.^(G)
5 You have rebuked the nations^(H) and destroyed the wicked;
    you have blotted out their name^(I) for ever and ever.
⁶ Endless ruin has overtaken my enemies,
    you have uprooted their cities;^(J)
    even the memory of them^(K) has perished.

⁷ The Lord reigns forever;^(L)
    he has established his throne^(M) for judgment.
⁸ He rules the world in righteousness^(N)
    and judges the peoples with equity.^(O)
9 The Lord is a refuge^(P) for the oppressed,^(Q)
    a stronghold in times of trouble.^(R)
